Gold Medals are awarded for each academic year (September 1 to August 31) in each province or designated region to the candidates in Levels 1 through 10 who have obtained the highest marks in each level and discipline. To qualify for Gold Medals Awards, candidates must obtain at least 80 percent on their practical examination and complete their academic co-requisites. For full details on Gold Medal eligibility, please consult a current syllabus.
The Gold Medal Awards Ceremonies are free community events held in six regions across Canada: Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario/Quebec, and Atlantic Canada.
Gold Medalists and their teachers are notified about their award and invited to the ceremony via email in early October.
